Heads Weekly Update 8th December 2017

Head of School

On Thursday, I had the privilege of watching the Nursery & Key Stage 1 Christmas play (both the morning and afternoon performances). Any Christmas performance involving our younger children is impressive but this year the Christmas play was particularly brilliant. To the children & staff who worked so hard on it – thank you and congratulations for a tremendous production.

This week, our motto comes from Veritas House: “Do the right thing at the right time”. The Veritas mottos often provide the greatest opportunity for discussion with some of our older children. While ‘honesty’ is the school value that Veritas represents, this is as much about self-reflection, being true with yourself and integrity as it is with “telling the truth”. I am hopeful that when we revisit some of the Veritas mottos in the New Year, we’ll be able to delve deeper into the meanings with pupils. English teachers, eh? We’re always looking for an excuse for a discussion!

Over the weekend, we are forecast some snow. Our only priority is the safety of children, parents and staff. If weather conditions are poor, please only travel if you believe it to be safe. Please see an earlier communication sent on my behalf from our school Reception about procedures during hazardous weather conditions.

With just a week left before our Christmas service, I hope that you will be able to join us from 3:00pm at The Holy Trinity Church. The Christmas service is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate as a whole community the school year and to celebrate the holiday season. Do join us if you can.

Have a lovely weekend.
