Lunch is an important part of the school day and that is why we ensure pupils are provided with a healthy and delicious lunch.
All of our lunches are cooked on site by our Chef, Richard, who uses a range of local suppliers for our meat (http://www.themeatroom.uk) and for our fruit and vegetables (www.bidvest.co.uk/ and http://www.esidwell.co.uk). Our kitchen has a 5 star food hygiene rating and our lunch menu offers a diverse range of dishes for pupils to enjoy.
Our lunch service begins with Reception as they sit and eat their lunch with their staff in a family-type setting. Tables are laid in advance of their arrival and fresh fruit is served as well as a homemade pudding on certain days of the week. Years 1 and 2 also eat together followed by Years 3-6 come in for their lunch. Our Senior School pupils (Years 7-13) come in for their lunch at 1pm. Our Catering staff provide a variety of options awhich are always available, including vegetarian options and baguettes and salads for the Senior Phase.
Children are encouraged to try a range of foods and not to be wasteful. Seconds are always available as well as fresh bread and butter. We believe that lunchtime is about much more than simply eating; the children all sit and eat together and are encouraged to behave well and show consideration for others.
