The Lower School day runs from 8.25am to 3:30pm (YR-2) and 4:00pm (Y3-6), with wraparound care provided from 8am to 6pm.
Pupils bring in a small, healthy snack for morning break. Lunch is served in the school dining hall between 12:00 – 12:50 and is an opportunity to recharge and socialise. Many children will take part in a lunchtime club on one or more days, giving them a chance to sing, dance, play an instrument or learn a new skill.
The afternoon session is often spent on the wider curriculum, including topic work, science, geography, history, art or Religious Education.
While the school days are well structured, children are given increasing responsibility for their day as they move through the Lower School. This is an important life skill that will help them to succeed in life beyond school.
Extension & Enrichment (ExEn) – afterschool sessions
An exciting range of after school clubs, from disco dancing, fashion to War Hammer games are offered from 4:00pm to 5:00pm. Aftercare is then provided until 6pm each day, where children can play and relax (tea is provided) with supervision from staff.
From Year 3 to Year 6, sports matches often run beyond 4:00pm, particularly when the fixtures are played away. Parents are kept informed about expected finish times and are able to pick up from school or from the offsite location if that is more convenient.
