The Senior School Day
The Senior School day begins at 8.25am, with supervised care available from 8am when the school gates open.
Pupils can bring in a small, healthy snack for morning break or visit the tuck shop. Lunch is served in the school dining hall at 1pm and is an opportunity to recharge and socialise. Many children will take part in a lunchtime club on one or more days, giving them a chance to pursue personal interests or learn a new skill.
Senior School pupils are given independence by taking increasing control of their learning. From Year 7, pupils follow a timetable and move around the school for lessons with specialist subject teachers.
On Fridays, part of the day is dedicated to Senior School assemblies as well as at least 40 minutes of Form time. This session is also used to support cross-curricular projects or to deliver lessons covering spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils.
The Senior School day finishes at 4:00pm with ExEn (Extension and Enrichment) running from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
Monday – Years 5&6
Tuesday – Years 10, 11 & 12
Thursday – Years 7, 8 & 9
Friday – Years 3&4
ExEn and aftercare
An exciting range of afterschool extension and enrichment, from badminton to literacy clinics, are offered from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
Aftercare is then provided until 6pm each day, where children can play, study or relax with supervision from staff.
