Payment Terms
Withdrawal of a pupil from the school will require ONE FULL TERM’S NOTICE and must be given in writing to the Headteacher, before the beginning of the term.
Fees are to be paid by the first day of term, unless an agreement for payment by monthly direct debit has been agreed in advance with Newman Schools Ltd. Newman Schools Ltd reserves the right to levy interest and late payment charges on fees not paid on time.
Payment of school fees is on the basis of 12 equal monthly direct debit instalments with the first instalment in the academic year being taken towards the end of August just prior to the start of the new school year.
Fees do not include entry for examinations run by external bodies, for example those for musical, drama and dance qualifications.
Fee increases will be made with notice of one term.
Scholarships
Arnold Lodge offers a range of Scholarships to candidates looking for entry to the school for Year 7 and Year 12 (Sixth Form). Scholarships may be honorary or carry a fee reduction of up to 50% for excellence in particular areas.
Into Year 7, Scholarships will be available for academic excellence and for pupils who excel in Art, Drama or Music.
Into Year 12, Scholarships will be available for academic excellence, particularly in the subjects pupils are wishing to study.
Arnold Lodge will consider bursary applications from parents of children who have been awarded a Scholarship but may not be able to consider Arnold Lodge for financial reasons. Parents can apply to have the scholarship augmented by a bursary, subject to a means test. Bursaries take the form of a fee reduction to a level dependent on the parents’ financial resources.
All awards are subject to the school’s ability to fund them within the context of its overall budget, and therefore levels cannot be guaranteed.
A very limited number of bursaries may be available for entry to Arnold Lodge in cases where a pupil does not meet the requirements for a Scholarship. Scholarships are awarded for the duration of the pupil’s time at Arnold Lodge, subject to annual monitoring and review at key stages, especially Year 9 into Year 10 and Year 11 into Year 12. The Headteacher has the right to withdraw a scholarship at any time if behaviour, commitment and progress are not being maintained.

Application Process
Scholarship assessment takes place in the academic year before a pupil looks to join Arnold Lodge and parents are typically notified of a decision within two or three weeks of assessment. Pupils must be recommended by their current Headteacher. Before being assessed, parents must register their child with us, after which a reference from the pupil’s current school will be requested.
