Dear ALS Community,
It is a pleasure to introduce ourselves to you as the newly elected Head and Deputy Head Prefect at Arnold Lodge School. As we embark on our new roles within the next academic year, we are keen to implement new ideas from the pupils, make school as connected as possible between the Juniors & Seniors and reinforce the school’s core ethos and values. We are both extremely excited to lead our current prefect body as well as acting as role models to our peers and younger students. We will both continuously strive for to be the best that we can be and cannot wait to fully begin to undertake our roles.
We are delighted to announce the release of tickets to our Junior and Senior Prize Giving Ceremonies on Wednesday 6th July. Tickets will be allocated on a first come first serve basis and are limited at both events. We would request that no more than 2 tickets are reserved per family to ensure that as many parents and guardians can have the opportunity to attend as possible. Tickets have already been reserved for the families of prize winners.
Juniors Prize Giving Tickets can be purchased here.
Seniors Prize Giving Tickets can be purchased here.
If you are unable to get tickets for the Prize Giving, please do still join us at the respective BBQs back at School. The timings of which can be found here. On that final day of term, Juniors will finish at 14:30 and should be collected by then if possible though Arnies will run until 5:00pm that day. If you would like to book your child into Arnies please email [email protected] to do so.
For Seniors, the day will finish at 15:00 after the Prize Giving ceremony. Pupils are welcome to leave from this point onwards. However, we would encourage you to join us for the BBQ at school. For those pupils that use the ALS bus service, the busses will depart promptly at their usual time of 16:15. If your child uses the service, please ensure they are prompt to get the bus as the buses will be unable to wait for any late comers. ALPA would be hugely grateful for any donations for the raffle which will be held at the BBQs. Please could these be brought into Reception by Monday 4th July.
Today marked the first time in 3 years that we could host spectators at our whole school ALS Sports Day and we are extremely grateful the weather was kind enough having seen the forecast last week! A huge thank you to all the staff, particularly Mr Gear and the PE team, for helping run the event and also all the pupils for their effort and enthusiasm on what was a truly wonderful day of sporting competition spread across both individual and house events. Firstly, congratulations to our pupil victors from the day receiving the ‘Winner of the Games’ awards for best all-around performance. In Key Stage 1, our winner is Tom W. For Juniors, Victor Ludorum was awarded to Suvan S and Victrix Ludorum to Isla O. In Seniors, our Victrix Ludorum is Kiki B-G and our Victor Ludorum is Toby W. Receiving the “Winner of the Games” award is very prestigious; congratulations to all our winners.
Finally, and most importantly, we can announce the overall House winner of Sports Day. Sports Day is always hotly contested. Not only this, but the points awarded for Sports Day have a significant impact on the overall standings towards the House totals for the House Shield that year. For this year, in 3rd place…Veritas House. In 2nd place…Amicus House. That means that the House Cup for Sports Day 2021 - 2022 goes to…Dedicas House! Congratulations to Dedicas pupils on their victory.
ALPA have asked us to pass on that, due to a family emergency today, the ice cream van was unable to make it this afternoon.
Over the Summer Holidays we are running the ALS Summer Holiday Club for pupils in Reception - Year 9, please see more details in this flyer. If you would like to book on you can do so via the Evolve booking link that was sent out earlier this week. If you have any questions about the Holiday clubs please do email Mr Gear on [email protected].
Next week for Juniors and on Monday 4th July for Seniors, please can we ask that pupils bring in a carrier bag to take home any work or belongings that they may have here at school. For any Seniors who have a locker here in school please can you ensure that all lockers are cleared before the end of term.
In the meantime, we wanted to pass on huge congratulations to Year 11 & Year 13 who have today, finished their exams! Year 11 have their prom this evening and we hope you all have a wonderful time.
